Kaberere 7s: The Road To The Final
By Rogue Desk · 2026-09-05 · 6 MIN
Three days, forty-eight matches, one trophy. How the Kaberere 7s became the loudest weekend in Kenyan rugby.
The grass was gone by noon on day two. What was left was dust, noise and a scoreboard that refused to settle.
Kaberere has always been a tournament about survival. Pool games come in seven-minute bursts, recovery time is measured in sips of water, and by the semi-finals the squads that arrived deepest are the squads still standing.
This year the story belonged to the men in the corner of the ground who nobody tipped. Two upsets, one golden-point win, and a final that swung on a single restart.
Every tackle. Every try. Every story. This is the road that got us to Sunday evening.
